tips for writing a humorous essay
A
- get ideas for your essay – look for ironic situations you have encountered
- built the structure-write a thesis statement (briefly describe topic and humorous perspective)
- humor will probably include irony and hyperbole (exaggeration)
- make sure you clearly describe and set forth the irony
- avoid trite phrases when using exaggeration (trite phrases are phrases that are overused)
