What does the title need to do?
Express a clear idea about the research
Name the variables
Name the theory being tested
What does the abstract include?
Summary of the key points
List of key terms (often separate) - allows researchers to decide whether this research is relevant to them
What does the introduction include?
background to the study
Relevant and Key studies
Issues and debates on the topic
Funnel technique - general material then narrow down towards the specifics (aims and hypothesis)
What does the methods and procedure include?
Describes how the study was conducted
Replication of the study - meaning it can be checked and evaluated by others
What are included within the subsections of the methods?
Method and technique (lab / questionnaires FE) Design Variables Ppts and sampling method Materials Procedure Controls Ethical Issues
What is included within the results section?
Descriptive stats: central tendency dispersion graphs tables written account Inferential stats: stats testing significance 1/2 tailed critical value
