Low/moderate

Hyperglycemia, autonomic neuropathy, insensate
What are the PT tests for a neuropathic wound?
Sensation testing
Wagner classification
Foot deformity
What does a venous insufficiency wound look like?
Border is irregular, wound is yellow slough, hemosiderin deposit, and edema
What is the exudate in a venous insufficiency wound?
Heavy to moderate
Where is the location of a venous insufficiency wound?
Between below knee and medial malleolus
What are the causes of a venous insufficiency wound?
Venous hypertension and incompetent valves
What are the PT tests for a venous insufficiency wound?
Venous filling time
What does an arterial insufficiency wound look like?
Sharply defined with callus, black dry Eschar, pale, absent hair, painful
What is the exudate in an arterial insufficiency wound?
Minimal
Where is the location of an arterial insufficiency wound?
Toe tip, bony prominence, dorsal/plantar foot
What are the causes of an arterial insufficiency wound?
Atherosclerosis (occlusion)
What are the PT tests for an arterial insufficiency wound?
ABI or rubor
What does a pressure wound look like?
Crater like (often tunneling and undermining)
What is the exudate in a pressure wound?
Dry
Where is the location of a pressure wound?
Heel, sacrum, or ischial tuberosity
What are the causes of a pressure wound?
Prolonged pressure, poorly fitting orthotic or wheelchair
