Syncretists try to mesh religions (build bridges) while fundamentalists try to emphasize unique aspects of religion (set boundaries)
What is the difference between Naturalism, & Pantheism, Theism (center/assumption/sin)?
Naturalism= physical matter, evolution/human focus, human limitations Pantheism= divine essence, emanation/nature focus, human ignorance Theism= personal creator, creation/God focus, spiritual separation
What three fundamental principles set Christianity apart from other world religions? (Chp 3)
- Only one (triune) God exists 2. The Bible is God’s only infallible revelation 3. Jesus is the only mediator to God.

What is the difference between Human-Centered & God-centered religions?
Human-centered religion is about God responding to what people are doing for themselves and God-centered religion is about people responding to what God has already done for them
What is the role of Love v/s the role of the Law?
Love’s role is to inspire/motivate us to obey God and serve others while the role of Law is to instruct/define what obedience to God and serving others really means

Where does we/humanity come from?

The plagues were designed to show the uselessness of the Egyptian deities and to provide an opportunity for the Egyptians to turn to Israel’s God.

Why did God reject Cain’s sacrifice & what significance does that reveal for you today?
Because Cain obtained his sacrifice my his own effort and believed that he could save himself by those efforts and not by the guidance of God unlike Abel who showed the opposite
What is the difference between Atheism, Exclusivism, Inclusivism, & Pluralism?
Exclusivism = saved through Christ alone
Inclusivism= saved through any religion
Pluralism= everyone will be saved
Atheism=religion never saved anyone
