Basic teachings are that everyone is equal in the eye of God.
5 pillars: confession of faith, praying, charity, fasting, pilgrimage.
Why did Islam spread rapidly?
Islam spread rapidly because after the Heijra, Muhammad spread the word and people converted. It promised Paradise, equality, and one God (Allah).
What were some of the achievements of hone Islamic civilization?
Some achievements were having an empire going from the Indus River to the Pacific Ocean, and a religion that spread throughout the world.
What issue divided the Sunni and Shiite Muslims?
The dispute was over who would become successor.

The Koran is the Quran (Muslim scriptures).

Saladin was the noble leader that led Muslims to be leaders of Jerusalem again.

Each invader left behind part dog their culture spreading new religions/traditions.

Women seemed knowledge, and we’re subordinate to men.

To pray, fast, and spend time away from the sinning in Mecca.

They were afraid to lose business.

There is No God but Allah, Muhammad is the prophet.

They face in the direction of the Kaaba.

They are promised to go to Paradise in the afterlife.

Religion was the most important factor in Arab life.

Their idea of creating a currency was very unique and useful. It allowed trade to become much more quicker and easier for the and the other surrounding civilizations.
What parts of life in the Arab Empire would you have liked? What parts would you have disliked?
I like how they pray 7 times daily and are constantly intact with their faith. I would have disliked how they treated women poorly.
