Q

What was the estates general? How did it lead to the beginning of the french revolution?

A

The estates general was a meeting to discuss the tax on the second estate. The first and second estate wanted to follow old rules, while the third estate wanted each delegate to have a vote, and the King sided with the higher class. The third estate was upset, so they named themselves the national assembly to create a representative government. This was the first deliberate act of the french revolution.
