What is the difference between a clerk of works and contract administrator?
A clerk of works inspects the workmanship, quality and safety of work on construction sites and reports back to senior managers and clients.
A contract administrator is the individual responsible for administering the construction contract or contracts.
Why is it important to record record progress and compare progress to the project programme?
To ensure works are in line with the contract period and are due to complete on the agreed completion date. Additionally, it mitigates the risk of delays which can create additional costs for the client.
What was included in the Westbourne Street Hotel Leaseholder’s Design Package and documentation?
Drawings, sectional drawings, listed building consent, contractor’s insurances, structural drawings, structural engineer’s drawings, planning permission.
Why is taking photos of the works important during your inspections for Westbourne Street Hotel?
To provide evidence from a point of time which can demonstrate the progress on site and the workmanship quality. It can also provide evidence of works being undertake outside of the agreed license.
