Workforce Performance
measuring the effectiveness of the workforce. (measuring the effectiveness of HR policies)
Labour Productivity
Is a measurement of the output per employee. It is important to measure the efficiency of the workforce.
Improve->
*capital equipment they work with
*change employment methods
*increased motivation
Absenteeism Rates
How many employees miss work (out of total No. of employees)
Causes-> working conditions, over supervision, lack of respect, stress, low pay
Costs-> lost production, paying overtime to others, people copying
Reduce-> flexible working hours, job enrichment, improve working conditions.
Labour Turnover
Measures the rate at which employees leave a firm
Causes-> low morale, low wages, wrong people employed, working conditions.
☹- cost of recruitment/ training, fall in efficiency
🙂- new ideas/ talents, avoids complacency
360-Degree Appraisal
involve the appraised staff member receiving feedback from people whose views are considered, helpful and relevant.
*can come from other staff or other stakeholders who can make a judgement.
Self-assessment
employee reflecting on own performance, progress, targets for future
Peer-assessment
having employees of similar levels comment on performance of others.
