Mrs Birling is prejudiced against the lower class as she refuses to help out Eva and blames her for her own actions

She feels self-righteous to the respect of those socially inferior to her, which is demonstrated by her use of the demeaning adjective ‘impertinent’ to describe Eva
Callous
Mrs Birling is presented as a cold woman through her callous refusal to accept any responsibility for Eva’s death. “I was perfectly justified in advicising committee not to allow her claim!” Adjective “justified” repeated through act 2 to excuse her actions, demonstrate her selfish + stubborn attitude
Imperious
When Mrs Birling is being questioned by the Inspector she has a very imperious + arrogant tone, which is designed to threaten the Inspector - but fails
Ignorant
She is ignorant due to her lack of understanding if the devastation of not only Eva’s death but also the suffering of millions in the classes below her
