gen. and gender are often
- εως, ὁ / -υος, ὁ / -εως, ἡ
liquid stems plus σ usu. in aor. act. form
σ dropped out and the previous vowel usually lengthened.
e.g. ἐ μεν σα –> ἔμεινα
note:
liquid fut. μεν εσ ω –> μεν εω –> μενῶ
fut. mid. part. μεν εσ ο μενος -> μεν εο μενος -> μενουμενος
Verb stem endings plus μ σ τ σθ(=θ) usu. in pf. mid./pass. form
labials: π β φ
velars: κ γ χ; σσ
dentals: τ δ θ (-ζω verbs’ actual endings maybe δ or γ)

labials: π β φ ——> μμ / ψ /πτ/ φθ
velars: κ γ χ; σσ —-> γμ / ξ / κτ / χθ
dentals: τ δ θ ——-> σμ / σ /στ/ σθ
note: when a consonant plus σθ, σ will drop out btw two consonants
liquid stems plus θ usu. in aor./fut. pass. form
