Properties and uses of Mahogany wood
It’s strong, medium weight timber and decorative and and it’s used for furniture, doors, window frames and staircases
Properties and uses of beech wood
Properties, not prone to splitting and it’s non-toxic thus has no taste or odour and it’s use is in situations where the product is to be exposed to a lot of wear and tear
Properties and uses of ash wood
Tough and flexible and is used for hockey sticks, cricket stumps, hammer shafts
Properties and uses of oak wood
Very hard, strong and durable timber and is quite heavy and is used for kitchen units, furniture and stairs
Properties and uses for pine wood
Pale, very little grain and mould for vacuum forming and for furniture
Properties and uses for Parana pine wood
Pale creamy brown, heavy and tough and used for staircases, window sill and step ladders
Properties and uses of a spruce wood
Very tough and is fairly hard and durable and is used for rafters, newspapers, floor joists, roof joists and coal pit props
Properties and uses for Cedar wood
Resists rotting and it can be easily sawed and keeps moths away and is used for closets, chests, boats, pencils and telephone poles
Properties and uses for MDF boards
Made from small particles of wood chips glued and composed together to a form sheet and used for making projects such as mechanical toys and boxes
Properties and uses for Plywood boards
Extremely strong and get its strength from arrangement of the glued layers and is used for cheap tables and inside of cluboards
Properties and uses for chip boards
It tends to be weaker than MDF and plywood.Also a difficult material to cut, join and finish and is used for books and kitchen work tops
