What is the difference between voluntary and involuntary part time work?
Voluntary part time work: people choose part time work due to demands on their time
Involuntary part time work refers to situations where one wants full time work but they cannot find it. This form of work is increasing and is higher when the economy is poor

What is the definition of workplace harassment?
Workplace harassment refers to objectionable, unwelcome conduct, comments or actions at any event or location related to work which can reasonably be expected to humiliate, offend, degrade, intimidate etc.

- Spread virally in 2017 in an attempt to demonstrate the widespread prevalence of sexual assault and harassment in the workplace
- Followed the Hollywood scandal with Harvey Weinstein (and subsequently a long line of others)
- People (high profile and not) tweeted their experiences
- In Canada, the result has been a great increase in number of calls to rape crisis centres and women’s shelters
- Conversation regarding harassments and assaults in Canada has taken on stream before the Hollywood movement, but that movement helped increase the sense of urgency for progress toward long term change

Discusses sexual harassment in the service sector. Found there are different responses - formal and informal. Draws attention to sexual harassment from customers rather than colleagues.
What is the link between sexual harassment and emotional labour?
Jobs within the service sector require a huge level of emotional labour. Additionally, in order to deal with uncomfortable situations, women often have to resort to emotional labour to manage them.
