Similatities in WW1/WW2

Women as doctors- role was considered less significant than men by the government in WW1. Some women such as Elise Inglis, Louisa Garrett and Flora Murry opened hospitals in Paris, Boulogne and then later London. Less of a role than men.
Women as nurses - nurses joined FANY and QAIMNS which let them serve as nurses in WWI/WWII. By the end of 1918, 10,000 nurses worked for QAIMNS - 200 of whom were killed. FANY + QAIMNS continued to post nurses to conflict zones on WWII - attatched to 24,000 Poles who escaped from Poland and went on to fight.
