wk10 - neck protocol Flashcards

1
Q

What are the effects of the Neck Protocol?

A

· Relaxes & realigns the muscles that surround the cervical spine
· Reduces pressure ont eh cervical spine, scapula, and shoulder joint
· By reducing pressure on these structures, proper alignment of tissues can be maintained to enable normal mobility & function of the neck & shoulder
· Facilitates qi & blood circulation through the UB & GB meridians

Q

What are the 7 steps of the Neck Protocol?

A

1) Pinch / Grasp posterior neck below occiput (3-5x)
2) Grasp trapezius one side at a time: posterior neck to shoulder (3x)
3) Forearm Push traps: neck to shoulder (3-5x)
4) Round Rub along each trapezius: base of skull, down neck, and over shoulder (3x)
5) Round Rub with thumb: medial scapula border to GB 20 (3x)
6) Plucking of traps (3-5x)
7) Palm-edge Hammering on traps
