Precautions- Contact Isolation
-Infectious Agent (MRSA & VRE)
-single room or roomed with someone else w/ same infectious agent
-Pt may not be actively “sick”
-Pt must be gowned and gloved when leaving room
-PPE (gown and gloves) everyone who enters and every time you enter
Precautions- Airborne
-TB or Chicken Pox (+contact)
-if pt leaves room, requires mask
-if TB: special negative air pressure room and ante room
-PPE (fitted N95, gown, gloves) before entering ante room
-Ante room then pt room, first door closed before opening second door, PPE
Precautions- Droplet (Airborne+ or Contact+)
-Influenza
-PPE (mask, gown, goggles)
