How is Rutherglen made?
Ripe and healthy grapes are picked. Some raisining may happen to produce a luscious style. Fermentation on the skins. Draining, pressing and fortification at 1-2%abv. Oxidative aging can last decades in old wood.
Describe Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise.
A youthful, unaged Muscat from southern rhone that is sweet and maintains varietal characteristics. Pale lemon. Floral. Fruity.
Describe Rutherglen.
A fully developed, aged Muscat from Australia that is sweet or luscious. The color ranges from Amber to golden brown. They will have pronounced oxidative aromas but can maintain Muscat aromas. Honey and orange peel.
