What practices should you follow when storing wine?
Keep the bottle sideways, at a constant temperature, and away from bright sun or artificial light
What temperature should sweet wines be served at?
Well chilled: 43-46 degrees
What temperature should sparkling wines be served at?
Well chilled: 43-46 degrees
What temperature should a light to medium bodied white or rosé be served at?
Chilled: 45-50 degrees
What temperature should a full-bodied white wine be served at?
Lightly chilled: 50-55 degrees
What temperature should a light bodied red wine be served at?
Room temperature or very lightly chilled: 55-64 degrees
What temperature should a medium to full bodied red wine be served at?
Room temperature: 59-64 degrees
What is TCA and what causes it?
Trichloranisole aka “Cork taint” caused by infected cork
What unpleasant sensations would you expect from a wine affected by TCA?
Fruit notes are muted, damp cardboard aromas may appear
If you are tasting honey, caramel, or coffee and less fruitiness than you expected, what has likely happened to the wine?
It has been exposed to oxygen via an incomplete seal
