What are the ideal conditions for long-term storage of wine?
- Cool, constant temperature of 10-15 C (50-59 F).
- Wines with corks should be stored on their sides.

Describe the difference between a Vacuum System and a Blanket System for wine-preservation
- Vacuum system: oxygen is removed from the bottle and the bottle is re-sealed.
- Blanket system: the wine is “blanketed” with an inert gas that is heavier than oxygen, which forms a protective layer between the wine and the air.
