Light bodied white wines
Sauvignon Blanc: fancy but not too fancy, fruitier and more tart. Goes good with anything light, like salmon. e.g. Seven Terraces Sauvignon blanc
Riesling: Perfect combination of sweet and sour, tastes like fresh squeezed apple and lime juice. Great with spicy foods like hot wings, ahi tuna poke bowls e.g. Charles Smith Kung Fu Girl Riesling
Unoaked Chardonnay: Elegant, refreshing, and refined, tart and a lil salty. Good for salads and zen bowls e.g. Wha cha ma call it chardonnay
Medium bodied white wines
Pinot Grigio: White wine, “dangerously crushable”, medium body, tastes like any stone fruit (cherry? peach?) goes great with any finger food e.g. dynamite rolls e.g. Tinhorn Creek Pinot Gris
Heavy bodied white wines
Oaked Chardonnay: Rich, creamy, and full of flavour. Tastes like candy apples and buttered popcorn. Good for rich and creamy dishes like fettuccine alfredo e.g. La Crema Chardonnay
Light bodied red wines
Pinot Noir: The wine for people who love wine. light bodied, but still nice and full! Tastes like cherries and dirt, goes well with salmon, cajun chicken e.g. La Crema or Quails’ Gate Pinot Noir
Light-medium and medium-heavy bodied red wines
Sangiovese (light-medium): Italy in a bottle. Tastes like bright red fruits and oregano, and goes great with pizza!
Merlot (medium-heavy): Easy-going and cozy. Tastes like plums, chocolate raisins, and vanilla. Awesome with burgers and ribs - staples! e.g. Poplar Grove Merlot
Syrah/Shiraz (medium-heavy): Dark and brooding! Tastes like blueberries, red meat, and purple flowers. Short rib ravioli, heavy things, or spicy things e.g. Road 13 Syrah
Heavy bodied red wines
Cabernet Sauvignon: The king of the wines! Dark! Dark wood, dark chocolate, dark fruits. Eat it with steeeaaaak e.g. Louis Martini Cabernet Sauvignon
