Term: Active Directory (AD)
Purpose: Centralized directory service used for user authentication, access control, and resource management
Concept: User Authentication (AD)
Purpose: Verifies user credentials against domain controller to allow or deny access
Concept: Centralized Management (AD)
Purpose: Admins manage users, computers, and security settings across the network from a central point
Term: Group Policy (GP)
Purpose: Used to control user and computer settings in an Active Directory environment
Command: gpupdate /force
Purpose: Forces immediate reapplication of all Group Policy settings
Command: gpresult
Purpose: Displays Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) for user/computer to see what policies are applied
Term: Cached Credentials
Allow users to log in with previously verified credentials when the domain controller is unreachable (offline login)
