Directly edit the Windows Registry, the database containing most Windows settings.
REGEDIT
Use non-graphical tools at the command line or script administrative tasks to automate them.
COMMAND.COM
You use Command.com to execute tools such as format, dir, md, rd, xcopy, and chkdsk.
Open the Services console to configure Windows services on your computer.
SERVICES.MSC
Open a blank Microsoft Management Console. With the blank console, you can add your own snap-ins to the console tree to create a customized console with frequently used tools.
MMC
Open the Remote Desktop Connection utility to start a remote connection to another computer.
MSTSC
Open a basic text editor. You can use to take notes, test printers by print a simple text file, and create HTML code for a web page.
Notepad
You can browse for files on your computer, or you can connect to the network and look for files on other computers and servers.
Explorer
You can use this to help troubleshoot system problems ranging from hardware failures, to problems with software and device drivers.
MSINFO32
Troubleshoot DirectX multimedia technologies. The tool reports driver information for system devices, including display, sound, and input. You can view the information in the tool or save it for future reference.
DXDIAG
By default, Task Scheduler runs defrag on magnetic disks at regular intervals, so you don’t usually need to use this tool manually. Defragmenting SSDs is unnecessary and actually reduces drive lifespan.
DEFRAG
Revert your computer to a previous state, undoing changes made to system and application files and settings, and uninstalling recently installed applications
System Restore, or rstrui
Update your operating system or programs, or configure settings related to system updates.
Windows Update, or wuapp
Prevents unauthorized changes to the computer. Requires permission or administrator password.
User Account Control (UAC)
Loads the hardware abstraction layer, the Registry, and boot device drivers into memory
