They are cheep to run. They are reliable and the wind is free. No pollution. It is a renewable source of energy.
2
Q
What are the disadvantages of wind power?
A
It takes 1500 wind turbines to replace a coal-fire power station.
Some people think wind farms are noisy and make scenery look bad. Sometimes the wind is too slow to generate power. You can’t increase supply when there is extra demand. Not many places are suitable to build wind turbines. It is expensive to set up a wind farm.
