What is the system of origin in Wilm’s tumour?
A
Also known as a nephroblastoma.
Wilms’ tumour is a undifferentiated mesodermal malignancy affecting the kidney in children and rarely in adulthood.

What are the typical signs and symptoms?
A
Usually presents as an assymptomatic abdominal mass.
May present with:
- abdominal pain
- haematuria
- UTI’s

Q
What are the common associations?
A
Overgrowth syndromes (Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome + others)
Trisomy 18 (Edwards)
Wilms’ with Aniridia, Gonadoblastoma (GU malformations), and Retardation (WAGR).
Can have Familial Wilms Tumour, autosomal dominant transmission (very rare)
