Q

what is a lyrical ballad

A
  • lyrical poems express emotion and ballads tell a story, therefore meant to express an emotion and/or tell a story with a supernatural element
  • coleridge and wordsworth wanted to establish a more rustic scene within simple form of ballads
  • wanted to relate to the common people more so didn’t want their ballads to be like the augustan eras (complex form)
