five shot method

A

The five shot method produces a sequence of events that can easily be edited together to tell a piece of the story. The mix of shots which is a sequence that flows together allows you to tell a compelling visual story. It lets you build a logical and interesting sequence and good video is about sequences which allow the viewer to understand what is going on, rather than a series of random shots, or shots that don’t satisfy the curiosity of the viewer.

Medium Shot

A

captures half of the subject, generally seen from waist to head for a person. Medium shots(full shot to medium closeup) tend to be inconspicuous because they are the typical human perspective. When you want the video camera to be invisible framing just a window on the actual world, medium shots work well.

focuses in closely on the subject. It is also used frequently with people during interviews. Close shots tend to be intense. Moving in on a subject enhances its importance. The bigger a subject is in the frame, the closer viewers pay attention.
