– Food protein induced enterocolitis syndrome – non-IgE mediated food hypersensitivity (also have FPIE, proctocolitis)
– acute GI symptoms 1-4 hr post-ingestion: vomiting (nonbilious), diarrhea (25%), lethargy (85%), pallor (66%), hypothermia (25%), hypoTN
== rice most common precipitant, ~50%; other triggers cow’s milk, soy, grains, meat, legumes, potato, fruit
—> majority of infants can tolerate trigger 1-3 years after diagnosis
