Why should we teach SLE morphology

Encourage the acceptance and awareness about SLE

Enhance students’ day to day speech

To promote our national identity through English

However there is a problem
In written form most of the morphological characteristics are not used only in speech

Mendis and Rambukwell (2010) states thats it is quite problematic to use the combination of Sinhala and english words as SLE vocabulary

:) it’s solved with to what extent speakers accept these features.
