Why MSM?

Three reasons:

1. Curriculum
   I like that it focuses on service learning and community service. I’m particularly interested in the clinical preceptorship and the clinical skills training lab. I want to become a great clinician and these tools will help me to do so.
2. Top institution among US Medical Schools for the social mission of bridging health disparities-

I recognize there will be a shortage of PCPs and this directly effects low income communities. I think MSM would give me the training and mindset necessary to help address this issue.

3. The mission statement- I share the same mission; to diversify the health professional work force. I’ve learned that patients are more likely to seek care if they feel they are represented by their physicians. This is solved by inclusivity and diversity. I feel I have a great perspective to share in the health professional workforce and I‘m in a good position to advocate for my patients.
