Why Geography at Cambridge? Flashcards
Geographical Tripos vs Preliminary Examination + Final Honour School
1st year - both do human and physical and skills papers (Oxford has controversies - arguments)
Oxford 2nd AND 3rd yr - 1 core + 2/3 foundational + 3/20 optional papers
Cambridge 2nd yr - 1 core + 3/6 optional papers
Cambridge 3rd yr - 4/12 choice papers
Why is Tripos better?
More flexibility in the course than Oxford
Allows to further specify from 2nd to 3rd
Can go from broad range to refined range to specified
Geo is vast - still have so much learn — don’t believe I’ll be able to decide which specific topics I want to do after the first year only
