Why Did Women Depend In Men??

Working class women earned low wages and still depended on their husbands as the main breadwinners, middle class and upper class women weren’t expected to have jobs so depended on their fathers brothers or husbands

Working class girls often got no education at all and could only get low paid jobs e.g. factories, domestic service. Richer families got an education in social skills, e.e. Piano, singing , dancing and needles work

For most of the 19 century the wide belonged to the man. He had the rights of the children and it was harder for women to get a divorce then for him to get one with her , it costs 2000 pounds
