-people were unhappy with the Weimar Republic and he saw it as an opportunity to gain power
-hyperinflation was happening
How did Hitler first become involved in the Nazi Party?
-it was known as a workers party and he was sent there as a government spy because the Weimar Republic was conscious it would be an extremist group
How did the Nazis create a credible political party?
-clear message->hatred of Jews, hatred of the Treaty of Versailles and they blamed communists and socialists for political change
-had a manifesto->25 point programme
-clear communication of polices->Hitler was a good orator
-wide range of policies which appealed to Germany
-calling themselves a workers party ->targets the working class who were most impacted by hyperinflation
-Swastika->branding/marketing tool->colours of the old German flag
-SA->private army->used during political marches etc which made them look powerful and popular

-Hitler saw democracy as betrayal (November criminals) and he wanted a one party state based on the Fuhrerprinzip model

-short term failure long term success->Hitler’s name became known but the Putsch wasn’t organised very well which led to it being unsuccessful
