Q

How can colonialism affect the speed a country develops at?

A

By exporting the materials the country has, the country has barely enough to supply themselves. If colonised country were to gain independence, they would need to take out loans from other countries, and interest would require them to pay more back later. Because they are using the money to develop, there is no more money to pay back the loans, and it traps them in a cycle of poverty
