Being able to ingest the appropriate nutrients to lead a full life; adequate food intake is both an essential requirement for life and a basic human right.
income
Being able to access adequate financial resources to have a decent standard of living i.e. individual can AFFORD healthcare, education, food, transport, recreation, etc.
stable eco-system
When BALANCE is achieved between the environment and the species that live in an environment.
All living things e.g. plants and animals are having their needs for food, water, shelter and reproduction met without causing detrimental effects to the natural environment.
sustainable resources
Ensuring that the resources used to promote health and wellbeing in the present are available for future generations so they too can experience a good quality of life to meet their own needs.
social justice
Equal rights for all, regardless of personal characteristics such as sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, income, race, religion.
Being free from discrimination and having human rights upheld.
equity
Relates to social justice with a greater focus on FAIRNESS, meaning that those who are disadvantaged receive more support

- marriage equality
- equal opportunities in the workplace
- access to Medicare for all Australian citizens
- equal opportunities to join sports clubs
Examples of equity
- scholarships for students from Low SES backgrounds
- Medicare and PBS safety net = further subsidiy on healthcare and medications for those that spend a certain amount, protects those from high costs
- Centrelink benefit payments for unemployed/Low SES
Examples of stable ecosystem
- clean water
- clean air
- natural materials e.g. timber for shelter and income
- crops for food and income
- fish for food and income
Examples of sustainable resources
- renewable energy sources e.g. sun/solar panels and wind turbines for electricity
- Not overfishing
- Sustainable farming practices e.g. crop rotations
- No deforestation
