This character is very NEGATIVE. He sees life in a ‘glass half empty’ kind of way. This trait can be seen through the way he mocks the greenwood life Duke Senior and Amiens enjoy. His negative attitude can also be seen in his desire to become a fool, so he could criticize whomever he wants and not get in trouble.
Jaques
This character is an extremely ENVIOUS fellow. He is jealous of anybody who is loved/ liked more then himself. This trait can be seen in their relationship with Orlando. As he is jealous of the love people have for Orlando, even though he is uneducated. He also is jealous of the fact that Orlando was not trained, he acts like a gentlemen
Oliver
This character is LOYAL. She will do anything for the people she cares about She demonstrates this trait with her cousin Rosalind. When Rosalind was banished from court and had no where to go. This character left with Rosalind so she was not alone. Even though they had no food, shelter or plan she stuck with Rosalind and traveled with her.
Celia
This character is WITTY. His quick/dry sense of humour allows him to be a castle fool. This trait can be seen in the way he jests and teases with Rosalind and Celia. While with them he makes quick jabs about people and events that make both girls laugh.
Touchstone
This character is entirely too TRUSTING. He believes what people tell him without looking for any evidence. This trait is seen when the character believes that Orlando is trying to embarrass him or kill him, just because Oliver said so. This character had no previous evidence that Orlando has evil intentions but he trusts what Oliver has to say.
Charles
This character is GENEROUS. Though people are rude to him, he still helps them in anyway he can. This trait can be seen in the way he interacts with Orlando. Orlando threatens to kill him but he still offers Orlando food and shelter.
Duke Senior
This character shows LEADERSHIP. She can take charge of situations and tries her best to support those around her. This character shows leadership when she is with Celia and Touchstone in the forest. When Celia is upset about being hungry this character tries to be strong for Celia. This character also takes the lead in buying the cottage/ farm that Corin has told her about.
Rosalind
This character demonstrates BRAVERY. He is willing to take chances and fights adversity. He demonstrates the trait when he takes on the court wrestler Charles. Though Charles is more experienced and favored to win, Orlando is determined to wrestle. Also this character stands up to his brother even though it is shown that Oliver would not hesitate to kill him.
Orlando
This character is INSIGHTFUL. He understands people’s personalities and knows when they are going to create a fuss. He shows this trait when he informs Orlando on Duke Frederick moodiness. He lets Orlando know that though Duke Frederick had left him alone for the moment, he would be mad at Orlando later
Le Beau
This character is CONFIDENT in his abilities. Though others might not think he can do something, he believes he can complete the task. He shows this trait when he tells Orlando that although he is old he can be good a servant. He was confident in his ability to complete the job.
