Q

Why does becoming fool appeal to Jaques?

A

Becoming a fool appeals to Jaques because it would be his job to criticize and to be negative. Also Jaques would also be allowed to make fun of anyone he wants to and not get in trouble. At the moment Jaques is not a very big fan of Duke Senior and usually tries to avoid him. Being a fool would allow Jaques to speak his mind about Duke Senior as well as any other nobles.

Q

In what ways does Oliver differ from his father? Why do you think he acts in this way?

A

In the opinion of Adam Sir Rowland de Boys was a good and kind master, who did not speak rudely to Adam. In other words Adam found Oliver a incompetent master and found him to be rude. This was because Oliver would call Adam a old dog and would talk down to him. Also Duke Frederick despised Sir Rowland because the people loved him. Oliver despises Orlando because the people love him and not Oliver.
