What is Bourbon Whiskey?
A
Bourbon is an unblended American Whiskey.
- It’s name comes from Bourbon county Kentucky.
- -Bourbon is produced from fermented mash 51% corn.
- Distilled at no more than 160 proof
- Aged at least 2 years in new charred oak barrels
- Bourbon can now be produced anywhere in US, not just Kentucky
Examples: Knob Creek,Makers Mark, Elijah Craig,

Whiskey is a grain spirit aged in wood barrels. Supposedly originated in Ireland.

A
– The only difference in process between Tennessee whiskey and bourbon is the charcoal mellowing process…. Filtration thru 10 feet of maple charcoal

American Rue Whiskey
A
–Made like Bourbon (aged in charred oak barrels) but made from 51% rye (not corn).
Examples: Must say RYE on label

20 % straight whiskey and blends
