Q

What do Fossils tell us? (3)

A

Give clues about organisms that lived long ago. Help to show how evolution has occurred

Q

How is a fossil formed?

A
  1. Sediment - Animal is buried in sediment
  2. Layers - Sediment accumulates and minerals slowly replace bones
  3. Movement - Movement in tectonic plates pushes fossils towards the surface
  4. Erosion - Broken sediment will be taken away and expose fossils
