Protein, carbohydrates, fat, calcium, iron, vitamin C and non starch polysaccharide (nsp).
What are the main nutrients in starchy foods?
Starchy carbohydrate, protein, whole grain provides nsp.
What are the main nutrients in fruit and veg?
Nsp and vitamin C.
What are the main nutrients in milk and dairy foods?
Protein, calcium and fat.

What are calories?
A measure of energy.
What could eating more calories than we burn result in?
Obesity.
Fat is a very concentrated source of energy. What does this mean?
Fat provides lots of energy per gram. We only need small amounts of it.
Where should we get our energy from, starchy foods or sugary foods?
Starchy foods.
What will eating excessive amounts of sugar lead to?
Obesity and diabetes type two.
What can happen to our waste if we do not get enough nsp?
A hard mass which is difficult to get rid of.
What can a lack of nsp lead to in the long term?
Bowel cancer.
What is a substance is found in the body that has a specifics unction in the body?
Nutrient.
