What is UX? Flashcards
Why UX?
Difference between failed product and major success
UX goal?
Place the user at the center of designer’s attention and assure that his needs are met. Resulting in a
successful product.
Maximising enjoyability of using a tangible or non-tangible product!
User experience can be defined as…
a person’s perceptions and responses that result from the use or anticipated use of a product, system or service

All aspects of the end-user’s interaction with the company, its services, and its products
What is UX Design?
Process of creating/developing valuable experience to users.
All steps from the needs’ stimulus to product deployment and including branding, design, usability and purpose.
What is Usability?
Degree of ease with which products such as software and Web applications can be used to achieve required goals effectively and efficiently.
Assesses the level of difficulty involved in using a user interface. Although usability can only be quantified through (in)direct measures and is therefore a nonfunctional requirement, it is closely related to a product’s functionality.
UX areas:
— Usability: ability to use the product and complete a particular task with no difficulty.
— Useful content: enough information and clearly presented
— Desirable/Pleasurable Content: emotionally meaningful content
— Accessibility: different people with different levels of disability have to be able to use the product
— Credibility: Security and privacy matter for all users
UX phases:
Utility: It is useful to me and it meets my needs
Usability: I am able to use the product easily
Desirability: I like the way the product looks and feels
Brand Experience: My overall feeling about the brand/product (in the abstract) is good
Product Design:
—Usability
—Aesthetics
—Practicality
