What is cell respiration/How carbohydrates are digested Flashcards
Where do our muscles get energy from?
Muscles obtain energy from food
What is digestion
Digestion is when the food is broken down into a liquid in your gut .
Once glucose is broken down in the stomach where does it go?
When carbohydrates are digested the liquid goes into the bloodstream and the cells and it is stored as glycogen in the liver and muscle fibers.
Give an equation for aerobic respiration.
glucose + oxygen—carbon dioxide+ water + oxygen
The glycose gets stored in two places .How and where is it stored?
When it passes through the blood stream some gets stored in the liver and muscles .
What happens to the lactic aid?
It is turned into carbon dioxide and water, a little back to glucose
Give an equation for anaerobic respiration.
glucose—energy + lactic acid
