Explain the difference between emigration and immigration, then explain why Europeans left their homelands.
Emigration is leaving a country. Immigration is entering a country. For example, if you were moving from the US to Finland, you would be emigrating from the US, and Immigrating to Finland. Europeans would emigrate from their homelands for multiple reasons. One of them was to find better pay and work. Another was to escape oppressive governments that would persecute them. Finally, they also left to escape famine.
Summarize Karl Marx’s views on economics and class struggle. You can include his famous writings.
Karl Marx is described as the father of communism. His famous views are best displayed in his book, “The Communist Manifesto”. He believes that everything should be shared, and that no capital should be owned by any one individual. The means of production would be held by the society in which it was based. He also believed that capitalism was only a temporary stage, and that if the workers/proletariat class could seize power from the middle class, they could destroy classes, leading to the final stage: a communist utopia.
