Purpose
Hunting and flushing birds
Proportions
Rectangular in shape however not long in body, which must be compact (not a short legged Irish Red and White)
Head
Balanced head, clearly defined stop but not as deep as an ESS, muzzle fairly square but not the same finish as an ESS, chiselling under eyes, head slightly domed and no occipital protuberance
Ears
Vine ear set moderately low with less feathering than an ESS
Neck
Long well muscled neck, no throatiness
Body
Deep brisket, firm topline, muscular slightly arched well coupled loin
Tail
Tail well set on a low, carried almost level with topline and lively in action
Feet
Round with thick pads
Size

Colour
Rich red and white
Coat
Straight silky coat, forelegs and hind above hocks moderately feathered, ear and tail lightly feathered
Breed drags
Long in body (loin), weakness in hindquarter
