What are the 11 components of fitness?
Cardiorespiratory Fitness Muscular Strength Muscular Endurance Flexibility Body Composition Agility Balance Power Speed Coordination Reaction Time
Describe cardiorespiratory fitness, and provide an example.
This relies on the heart and lungs and involves long-distance exercise.
Ex: running a marathon
Describe muscular strength, and provide an example.
This relies on muscles being able to lift very heavy weight.
Ex: squatting
Describe muscular endurance, and provide an example.
This relies on muscles being able to do a movement over and over again
Ex; push ups or sit ups
Describe body composition, and provide an example.
This is about the amount of muscle and fat your body has.
Ex: the difference between the body of a sumo-wrestler and a marathon runner
Describe agility, and provide an example.
This is about being able to move your body quickly.

What is cardiovascular endurance?
Is the ability of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels to supply oxygen and nutrients to the muscles during long periods of exercise
What are the synonyms of cardiovascular endurance?
Cardiorespiratory/Aerobid Endurance
What are the benefits of cardiovascular fitness?
Increased heart muscle strength Improved cholesterol Stress reduction Lowered blood pressure Mood and self-esteem boost Weight control Improved sleep
What are the most important benefits of cardiovascular fitness for students at our age?
Stress reduction
Improved sleep
What are the three questions to ask to know if an exercise is cardio?
Am I breathing hard?
Is my heart beating fast?
Am I moving for a long time?
How do you calculate RHR (resting heart rate)?
Number of heart beats in 60 seconds/1 minute
Why is it important to know your RHR?
- So that you know if your BPM is too low or too high
- So that you can improve your RHR by lowering it through cardiovascular activities
