Weaknesses

A

-WEAKNESS IN CRISIS:
-Lack of strong, single party government
was a problem when swift decisions
needed to be made. Article 48 could be
used but made the constitution seem
weak

-COALITION GOVERNMENT:
-Proportional Representation meant small
parties won seats so in total in the 1920s,
there was 29 parties
-Often argued and coalitions fell apart

-DIVISIONS AND VIOLENCE:
-Weimar Republic was created out of
violence, without any real public
enthusiasm.
-Nationalists and communists were
opposed to democracy and openly
despised the new constitution
