How much weight do neonates gain? How does this compare to birth weight?
Weight gain should be approx. 30 grams per day (‘ounce a day except on Sunday’ = 180 g/week)
What is the formula for calculating weight for a <1 year old?
Weight = (age / 2) + 4 (age in months)
What is the formula for calculating weight for a 1-6 year old?
Weight = (age + 4) x 2 (age in years)
What is the formula for calculating weight for a 6-16 year old?
Weight = (3 x age) + 7 (age in years)
What is the minimum systolic BP for a neonate?
60 mmHg
What is the minimum systolic BP for a <1 year old?
70 mmHg
What is the minimum systolic BP for a >1 year old?
70 + (age x 2)
What are the max HR and RR for a neonate?
HR = 180, RR = 60
What are the max HR and RR for an infant (2-12 months)?
