Define a social ghetto
A location of geographic and social isolation, usually of a marginalized group - underlain by poverty

Metabolic effects of social marginalization, in which life history and metabolism shifts (negatively) and having intergenerational effects

First socially separated by people in power, then became physically separated when they put up freaking walls

Distinguished by a low social rank and that rank being imposed upon them. Defines the relationship between the group living within the ghetto and society at large
How do modern ghettos represent a legacy of institutionalized segregation?
Mass migration of African Americans moving north post slavery to work in factories to meet WW1 production demands, white people were mad and made them live in segregated areas. A lot of them haven’t left

Implemented policies to prevent black tenants from renting or owning property in white neighbourhoods
