What should you be thinking in the RUQ?
Gallbladder, duodenal ulcer, liver, pleurisy, potentially referred appendicitis
What should you think in epigastric?
GERD, gastritis, ulcers, pancreas, cholecyctitis, liver, referred pain
What might refer pain to epigastric?
Heart, lungs, esophagus, mediastinum, spine
What should you think in LUQ?
Spleen, perforated gastric ulcer, pancreatitis, intestinal infarct, diverticulitis, pleurisy, perforated colon
What should you think for flank pain?
Kidney stone, kidney infection, kidney cancer
What should you think for periumbilical pain?
Gastroenteritis, appendicitis, pancreas, AAA
What should you think with RLQ pain?
Appendicitis, crohn’s, ectopic pregnancy, diverticulitis, meckel’s diverticulum, AAA, incarcerating inguinal hernia, colon cancer, acute pancreatitis, acute cholecystitis
What should you think with hypogastric pain?
Colon pathology, rectal lesion, pelvis, spine, hip, urinary tract, acute diverticulitis
What should you think with LLQ pain?
PID, sigmoid diverticulitis, ectopic pregnancy, perforated sigmoid colon, incarcerated inguinal hernia, leaking aortic aneurysm
What is the blood test for liver?
BAAAGL: bilirubin, ALP, ALT,AST, GTP, LDH, hepatitis panel
What is the test for pancreas?
Ultrasound and amylase and lipase
What is the test for large intestine?
Colonoscopy, O&P, stool guaiac, FAB
What is the test for the urinary system?
UA, CT
What is the test for the gallbladder?
CT, CBC
What test is for a AAA?
Aortic ultrasound and CBC
