WEEK 6 Flashcards

1
Q

how do you analyse movement?

A

1) simple

2) observational
- joint actions
- assumptions made for contraction mode and muscles that are active

3) biomechanical techniques

Q

what are the 5 movement analysis considerations

A

1) lifting phase, lowering phase

2) acceleration or deceleration

3) the same muscles that lift a load are also the muscles that lower a load

4) just because a muscle is capable of a certain action is no guarantee that it will be active when that movement is observed

5) just because no movement is observed, does not mean there is no muscles activating

Q

what are the 6 steps required to make a movement analysis

A

1) read the question

2) break the movement into phases

3) thinking about what contractions are occurring during these phases

4) for each joint, identify the action that is occurring during each phase

5) concentrate on the lifting phase and identify the muscles responsible for those movements

6) the same muscles identified in the lifting phase are the same as those used in the lowering phase.
