When to use a fracture board?

A

With C collar of course
Stabilizes torso/legs/pelvis
Primary use is for extrication of pt to a stretcher
Goal= remove pt from board onto stretcher ASAP
Used for RAPID EX, multi system trauma, immobilization

A

CONCIOUS/STABLE
NOT for load + go pt
Great for tough extrication
