what are the 3 models of disability?

A

moral model- disability is caused by moral lapse or sin

medical model- disability is a defect or loss of function that resides in the individual. Medical intervention is taken.

Minority model views disability as an external problem which involves an environment that is filled with negative social attitudes and poor physical accommodations.

  2. dont refer to people with disabilities who have incredible achievements as an example of superhuman abilities, its an unfair expectation.
